Frequently Asked Questions

Why is ‘C’ rating important?

Until our latest models all Salon water systems were ‘D’ and above rated. However with the introduction of new ‘Smart’ technology we can produce a much more energy efficient system, saving you more money and kinder to the environment.

How does it work?

The Aquaflow is powered by electricity. The immersion heaters, unlike domestic heaters, are very powerful and are designed to heat the water extremely rapidly.

It is also constructed to give ‘ultra low heat loss’, making the unit very cost efficient.

The pressure and temperature at all basins is equal where installation supply pressure and flow-rate permit. This means that no matter how many taps are switched on, or if water gets used in another part of the salon, the water at the backwashes always remains the same.

Is it easy to install?

Absolutely. The Aquaflow Powermaster uses ‘plug and play’ technology, so reducing fitting time. There is no frontline pipe work and the electric cables are hidden, making the unit very neat and compact. Even the expansion vessel is tucked under the removable lid (with the exception of the 300 model).

The valves and inlets are all encased under the lid and all valves are factory fitted, making this a virtually pre-plumbed unit.

The Aquaflow Powermaster is an unvented system which is designed to go almost anywhere in the salon – where ever you have enough space! Because of the new design it is now more neat and compact so it can sit on the floor, be wall mounted (up to the 210 model), or put into a cupboard. The choice is yours.

How do I know which model I need?

The size of the Aquaflow is dependent on the number of basins, but also – and more importantly – on the number of clients (for established salons) and the amount of colour work undertaken. The table will give you a guide, but for more specific sizing, please contact us where we can size the system for you and also provide technical information for your plumber if required.

What If I live in a hard water area?

We recommend that you protect the system from limescale build up if you live in a hard water area. The guarantee does not cover parts that are subject to limescale build up. We advise a limescale device that can be fitted at the same time as the Aquaflow. It will help to protect the system as well as all pipes, taps etc.

Does it matter which wash units I have?

No, any model of wash unit is fine, but do ensure that you have jet spray heads. These will make the Aquaflow even more efficient and also have cost savings on electricity and water bills.

What is the anti-legionella cycle?

There is an Automatic anti-legionella cycle in normal operation at all times.

Do l need a timer?

Timers are not absolutely necessary as the Immersions will cut in to re-heat as they are governed by the thermostat which tells them to come on when the set point is reached. However, if you prefer, we can supply at a minimum cost of £40.

Is there a boost available?
If a timer is fitted and programmed to heat water overnight and stay on all day, you could then use a manual boost to the upper immersion heater outside the programmed times as required.

Or, if two separate electrical supplies are taken from the Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) then both immersion heaters could be used together or the upper one used as a boost if necessary.

Generally, if timers are not used then so long as both Immersions have a separate electrical supply taken from the MCB they can be switched on and off manually, and left on using the fitted thermostats to control the stored hot water temperature.

Is there an off-peak function?
The Therm-o-disc thermostats will cater for off-peak loads as long as they are ‘timed’ from a separate Timer or ‘switched on’ from the 20amp Double Pole Isolating switched supply.
Is there anything else l need to buy?

Everything necessary comes with the Aquaflow – all in one box. There is no need to buy anything else unless you would like an optional limescale master, wall bracket or timer.

What about the environment?

The manufacturers sustain an active approach to caring for the environment and also ensure that they limit harmful discharges from the factory. The long working life of the system makes it environmentally sound because it limits the use of resources and energy.

Heat losses and energy efficiency have been at the forefront during the design of the Aduaflow Powermaster. Other systems can lose a substantial amount of heat from the valves on the side of the cylinder.

With the Aquaflow, all the pipe connections are located under the removable, insulated top – thus ensuring heat losses are kept to a minimum.

By purchasing the Aquaflow Powermaster, you will be contributing to the wellbeing and environmental protection practice.

What guarantees does the aquaflow powermaster come with?

The Aquaflow comes with a manufacturer’s guarantee of 25 years, subject to the annual service being done and recorded in the service and record log book – as required by OSO Insurance providers – otherwise the Guarantee could be void.
The expansion vessel carries a 5 year guarantee, and all other parts, 2 years – with the exception of lime scale build up.

We cannot guarantee any water heater not installed by a proper, unvented cylinder fitter, and of course our warranty does not cover your installation.

What about after sales care?

We believe that not only do we have to offer an excellent product, but that our customers need a superior back up and support network. We work in partnership with the manufacturers to offer unsurpassed after sales support.

What is..?

A: ISO 9001 Approved for consistency and Quality

B: CE Certified CE for product compliance with EU legislation

C: WRAS Certified for the water regulations advisary scheme. The purpose is to contribute to the protection of public health by preventing contamination of water supply and encouraging efficient use of water.

What if I have a problem?

Your first port of call should be your installer to check if both stats and immersions are working (2 minute test). If power is going to the immersions, it is invariably a problem with the plumbing or electrical installation.

All parts are guaranteed for 2 years and the tank for 25 years – subject to the annual service being carried out and recorded in the service and record log book – as required by OSO Insurance providers – otherwise the Guarantee could be void.
